Sand Stallion by Elena Bondar
Sand Stallion

It is hard to believe that any creature can live at temperatures of around 45 degrees for any length of time, but the wild horses of the Namib Desert manage to do just that. These horses were able to develop in almost complete isolation, and are probably the only feral herd of horses residing in Africa, Despite the harsh environment of the Garub Plains, the Sand Stallion thrives well enough, except during times of extreme drought.

Behind the Canvas

Sand Stallion came into existence as a private commission for a local customer. As such, the original painting is no longer available. However, I always digitize my work, and will soon be able to provide a limited number of full-sized canvas prints of the original painting. A full-sized PDF version is already available for download.

Stretching across the wall 1 meter by 1 meter, this is a large, vibrant and imposing image which will compliment a variety of background colour arrangements.
