Yep, this is me – with my pal ‘Kermit’
About Me
Well, hello there. Or, as I often mutter to the dog when I haven’t left the studio in days, “Look what the tide dragged in.” If you’ve managed to navigate the perilous waters of the internet and landed here, you deserve a medal and probably a small, very strong drink. This little corner is where I try to convince you I’m a fully functioning adult who happens to smear paint for a living. I suspect we both know the reality is far messier.
I’m an artist, which is a rather grand way of saying I spend an unreasonable amount of time staring intensely at things and then attempting to capture their essence—or, more accurately, my slightly skewed commentary on their essence—on a flat surface. My work, you’ll find, is less about achieving some lofty perfection and more about highlighting the occasional burst of profound beauty you sometimes stumble upon, usually when you weren’t looking.
My journey here wasn’t some romantic, bohemian jaunt; it was more like a series of minor mishaps and the slow, creeping realisation that one is demonstrably worse at everything else. So, here I am, armed with a dry wit and a wet brush. I find great satisfaction in pairing vivid, descriptive detail with a sharp commentary— To look at a perfectly nice sunset and think, yes, but it could do with a good edit.
